One 3 gallon kit E707HB Epoxy will work well as the basecoat for your 400 sq' concrete garage floor. It is a commercial grade, professional quality epoxy and when applied at 133 sq'/gallon youi will be applying the 3 gallon kit at 12 mils DFT (dry film thickness) which is a good thickness for a long term durable coating. The E707HB comes in a selection of 20 colors so you should be able to find one to meet your decorative requirements.
You have the option of applying flakes into the E707HB Epoxy just after application and while wet. We offer flakes in 10 lb increments and offer a wide range of factory blend options. For a full flake system (only see flakes) would recommend 50 lbs and 10 lbs will still offer a nice heavy density. See this link for options https://exteriorcoatings.com/product/...
We also recommend a clear urethane or polyaspartic clear topcoat. These two type of coatings offer improved impact, abrasion and chemical resistance over a stand alone epoxy basecoat. The easiest option to work with would be our 5500-Ex Polyaspartic Clear which comes in a 2 gallon kit, website link https://exteriorcoatings.com/product/... and will work well for either a solid color system or one with up to 10 lbs of flakes. If you decide on a full flake broadcast you would need 50 lbs. For a full flake broadcast you would need 3 gallons of polyaspartic and I suggest our E344QC Polyaspartic, website link https://exteriorcoatings.com/product/...
